HARVEY S. BARR
Harvey S. Barr was admitted to practice in 1964 following his
graduation from New York Law School. In addition to being counsel to the
State Assemblyman for the 94th Assembly; First Assistant County Attorney
for Rockland County; and the attorney for various municipalities in the area, Mr.
Barr was also a member of the United States Department of Justice,
Panel of Bankruptcy Trustees for many years.
Mr. Barr has developed an expertise in complex commercial transactions
in both the New York State and Federal Courts. He has represented
significant business interests in the financing, purchase and sale of
multimillion dollar businesses, including real estate transactions related
to those acquisitions and sales.
Mr. Barr's litigation skills has also resulted in significant awards in
favor of business interests throughout the State of New York. He has an
expertise in negotiating business restructuring and loan workouts without
the need for litigation, as well as within the bankruptcy context.
Mr. Barr's skills are widely recognized among his peers. He is
frequently a lecturer on various bankruptcy and commercial law topics for
the New York State Bar Association, The Rockland County Bar Association
and the National Business Institute.
